Default critisize my turbo build plan

New to turbo. Not to LS motors.

Plan...

-Bran new lq9 shortblock from summitracing. Coming with forged pistons. Is bored 30 over so its 370ci. Site says its 10.8cr with 70cc heads
-stock 317 heads
Ls6 blue springs
Ls6 cam
Stock truck intake
Forward facing turbo headers
On3 78/76 turbo
MS3pro
Dual walbro 255 pumps
80Lb deka injectors

Going with the new shortblock instead of a used one in hopes that it will stay together longer. Hoping to make a reliable 700rwhp on 91 pump gas

Too high of compression for 91 pump gas. What pistons and rods are they?

Are you open to using meth injection? If not I'd would try to be around 9:1 compression on 91 pump gas. My buddy runs 15-17 psi on a ls1 with 317 heads on 91 octane 750 rwhp.

id agree with this definitely consider water meth injection with a2a intercooler and i would look at some stronger valve springs. Have a look at Denmahs build
threads ive learnt a lot through them

Just build it with lower CR and then you can easily and safely meet your goals on your pump fuel.

Is there any way to use this and build it with lower compression?

I think I would ditch the new block idea and find a junkyard LQ4. That solves your compression problem and gets you 317's and the truck intake for no extra cost. If you get the exhaust manifolds with it you don't need the turbo headers. The money you save could go toward a better cam and springs.

I'm surprised that you haven't been fileted over the on3 turbo yet.

I know, I use one myself after my precision laid down. Given the ls1 tech culture, anything Chinese is heavily frowned upon.

Given the many budget builds here...I'd hardly say that is the reality.

Plenty of people using chinese parts and many with success for them.

not here to criticize. only add.

Couple things you want to do for a successful turbo application.

First thing, coat or wrap or blanket everything you can. When the engine first starts, the intake and exhaust temps are the same. But gradually, quickly, the exhaust warms everything up- including the compressor (and everything under the hood of course). The more of a difference you can keep between the two in terms of temp, the better the performance of the system overall. I don't care if you have to buy huge 2000*F fire blankets and stuff them around the pipes- do something about it!

2. Plan in advance for swapping turbochargers down the road. Place the turbo in an easy to reach location so that removing it is not challenging. Make lines that are easy to access and far from the temp of the exhaust.

3. Methanol injection... very important if using 93 octane, even if you dont need it, a nice safety feature to own.

4. Plan in advance for EGT sensor location, drill and tap an easy spot in a manifold and clean it up really well before you bolt anything to anything.

5. Support the turbo and any hanging exhaust downpipes with a sturdy bracing. When exhaust heats up it is easier to warp and bend... a sturdy brace is essential to keeping you leak free when everything gets hot.

6. colder plugs and high quality oil will go a long way

Why is 91 the only option? I found a **** ton of E85 stations in CA.
