Wastegate/bov noob question

Wastegate/bov noob question With my build just about wrapped up, and running an open down pipe , should I just use a vent tube for my wastegate ? Or recirculate it into the down pipe? First option seems to be the easiest , and with the smaller v1 downpipe, venting it may be beneficial power wise
Why would you want to run it into the Downpipe? I mean, I've seen it done, but usually it was for people that want to run all of the exhaust through a muffler. Or sometimes for aesthetic reasons.
