wideband placement in 5" downpipe? ?

wideband placement in 5" downpipe? ? I've got the aem/bosch uego wideband, and per the instructions, ina turbo application it should be 36 inches or more??
Aren't most guys putting them in at 18 inches (that is the recommendation for a non turbo placement per the instructions )
I'm thinking since I'm using 5" exhaust my heat retention wouldn't be as much ?? So deff the 18 or so, but not 3ft!? Thanks

Probably won't hurt... I run E85 on my mazda and have the sensor about 18" form the turbo... been healthy for 6 years or so, but my low load AFR does change slightly with my dump open VS closed. WOT readings will be fine.
You can grab the heat sink for them. That's the route I went on the new setup anyway
