The never ending quest....
Maybe it would have been better to run the car at the track to get hard numbers, but I can assure you that the car felt like it was down 2 holes. Wouldn't have mattered anyway as it was a street car, so exhaust was mandatory. But just wanted to see how the car felt open headers.
There would also be the whole you lost velocity because you dump the exhaust. going open or going to big of a exhaust pipe could mean you losing velocity and mistaken it for "need back pressure"
in other words you traded low end grunt for high rpm power.
Mostly because you dont have enough exhaust pulse down low vs higher up.
not really a "need" for a back pressure a properly size free flowing exhaust is still better
