Whipple 4.5L information

Default Whipple 4.5L information

I know its all about turbos now, but they give me a headache just looking at all the plumbing and fitment issues.. So I will ask about a supercharger. I can't seem to find any info on the price or even a vender selling a 4.5l Whipple for LS engines.(plenty for mustangs) I see a lot of magazine right ups (Whipple 4.5 and LSX 376) and a few build ups but never any part numbers or specific sources.
Every LS Whipple kit I see uses the 2.9L. Does anyone know if Whipple sells a 4.5 unit for LS engines straight up or do you have to build it out of parts?
I even looked at Sand rail set ups on the whippple web page and still it just has 2.9L kits under LS. How much more is it then for a comparable set up with a 2.9L? I know you would need/want a 10 rib drive but other then that part how much more is it. Anyone know?

Whipple's website is a bit out of date. Apparently at Sema they just unveiled a 4.5 front feed that they are intending on releasing soon for LS motors with the 5th gen accessory drive. Don't think I can link it but just search "whipple 4.5 ls" and dragzine's got an article on it.

They offer them, call them up.
They did the 4.0l on the COPO RaceCars in 2012. They do the 2.9l's now.

The 4.0 is $7500, so using logic...the 4.5 is going to easily be $8k plus. And yes, Whipple's website is very much out of date and has been for a long *** time. It's almost 2017 and for a company to sell a product for thousands of dollars not to have a decent, more informative website is just all sorts of wrong.

I was in the same boat as you. I was looking a 4.5 whipple and the info is really scarce, whipple doesn't seem like the welcoming kind to emails asking about pricing, info, lead times, or any of the such I could never get a response from them not to mention their sorry a$$ website. Let's just hope they build better superchargers than they have customer service Lol. But thankfully I got mine second hand in brand new condition from helicoil That man is a true life saver in my book. Make sure to inspect for shipping damage VERY CAREFULLY! FedEx screwed mine up to the tune of $1100 and then tried to claim I didn't have shipping insurance. It took me 6 weeks to go through the claim process. But I'm very pleased with it. If twin screw superchargers are your style then you'll be more than pleased.

What I found when running my Whipple last year is that Whipple themselves were absolutely no help when it came to their own product. Anyone I ever spoke to there sounded on the phone like they ought to be on suicide watch for whatever reason.

The guys at CBM I have had several convos with, and were more than willing to share their knowledge with me, and ultimately it was a few parts of theirs that solved the belt issues I was having.

That said, if you go the Whipple route, deal with people who know them well and use them. Whipple wont be any help whatsoever
