Default Need help for P1SC

I have a friend who is selling a P1SC and I'm on the edge of buying it. My question is how safe are they on a stock internals LS1? I've tried researching it but I can't get the answer I'm looking for. It'll be going on my daily. Will I need methanol injection? How safe will 5-7lb of boost be? Thanks.

As long as you get a fuel pump and injectors and colder spark plugs, there's no reason a p1sc wouldn't be fine. The tune is key.

This ^^^ I think you'd be fine. If you decide against it, I know someone interested.

You're not going to hurt a stock internal ls1 with a p1sc with a decent tune. I would run it at about 8-9lbs and that will be about all the p1sc will do...

I have a stock internal ls1 with a P1SC. With almost max blower rpm and a 6k rev limit on the motor I only see about 5-6lbs. But I do have a big cam and good exhaust. It's fine.

As has been mentioned, 8 psi with a good tune is generally regarded as being safe. Adding methanol injection gives the engine added safety against detonation. Bob

its the tick stage 2 blower cam. At the time Martin said it would be too big for what I had- but I got it anyways

no hp or track times- it's in a hotrod '49 chevy pickup with a T56 and 4.10s and 20" wheels/27" tall tires. I assume it to be around 500hp, maybe a hair more.

It's incredibly fun on the street. I beat it pretty hard. Tuned it myself with EFILive. Max KR I see is 1-3° every now and again, nothing that bothers me. 12.5:1 under boost.

Not sure if you watch gas monkey last season but I was the dude/this is the blue chevy truck they interviewed with when they were down in Houston for a car show after building their own 47-53 truck.

12.5 air/fuel??? You really need to fatten up that AFR to something in the mid 11's. What kind of timing are you running?
I do watch gas monkey and think I even remember that episode!!
