Kenne Bell TS as a Daily?
Hey guys. I am new here but not to the sport.
Here is my question. I have a Kenne Bell TS series SC that is in great shape. I recently bought an 07 Chevy single cab that has a 4.8 in it. I plan on pulling the 4.8 and swaping in a 6.0 and have a stage 1 goal of 500 hp. Originally I thought I would keep the 6.0 stock and put the SC on top but the more I read I am hearing that the Kenne Bells are not the best for a daily driver because they create to much heat. I havent bought the 6.0 yet and im wondering if I should sell or trade the SC away towards parts for a better 6L? Thoughts?

I have a whipple 2.9 sitting on top of a cammed ly6 6.0 . My intake temps are 20-25 over ambient. I stayed away from the kb for that reason.if you wanted to use the Kb, you could run meth injection to keep temps low. These type of blowers have a bypass valve so your not in boost until you really get on it. Should be fine just cruising around.

Kenne bell makes for a sweet daily driver. Pulley one down (assuming 2.8L?) on a 6.0 and you could have 700+hp with a heavy torque down low. The only heat soak issues are usually hot lapping the quarter or road racing, if your street driving and have the a/w set up right you shouldnt have issues.

Thx for the info! I decided I might just sell the set up and go turbo. The reason being is that the Sc has EVERYTHING to make it work on 4.7 Mopor and by the time I strip it down and buy the extra parts Ill be in it to much...IMO I can throw it on Ebay and sell it for 2k plus.

I agree with that, the turbo kits for those trucks are dirt cheap, and buying components for a KB kit adds up fast. Personally I would keep the 4.8 and get a 70mm turbo or so, those engines handle boost well. Pump gas +15psi should put you at 600hp and live for quite a while.
