I've got a set of LS-R heads and have been pretty much thinking of going with Dart's billet block. But with all the options it's brought the price up into the 14 Grand area!!! But my I ask, what was the price of that CGI block and also the weight of it? I would assume you guys looked at these areas as well in your ultimate decision to go with the block you did.

CGI is heavy even with milling some external weight its 239lbs right now. Price was in the 4-5k area if I remember correctly. Also Dave just ordered a Noonan billet block and it was under 10k.
Yeah, the Noonan block is an option, but to be honest I think the Dart would still be the way to go with the much stronger LS next2's bottom end. But then again it's a pretty good bit more expensive!!! There's a side of me that keeps thinking go big block, go big block, but part of the whole reason for this build was to be able to run the LSX shootout stuff. And with that you have to run race gas and no alcohol. And you know pretty much everything else these days allows alcohol therefore no need for all the intercooler stuff!!! Damn decisions!!! I'm starting to think just get a camper and a nice fishing boat and get into a much more relaxing sport!!! But, once a gearhead always a gearhead!!! It's a fricken sickness I tell 'ya!!!

Thanks! Car is in great shape and ready for Bradington FL NMCA race. Truck and trailer are down in FL ready for action in a couple of weeks. It was a good weekend running 4.25-4.05-4.02-4.01-then 3.97! Even better was breaking the record an having a perfect running engine after the fact!

Hahaha, went 1.028, then a 1.048 and I was like damn we had a crap 60ft that pass. The guys where laughing at me when I said that. Then a 1.03-1.020-1.005, would have liked to see a .999 or better but there is always next time.

what on earth does a 1.00 60ft feel like lol.....I know the difference between a 1.5 and a 1.3 is huge in how it feels, can't begin to fathom what a 1.0 feels like. Guessing like your stomach fell out of your ***.....
