Default Dart LS Next2 454 and Fi?

Ok,

So I started to have issues with my LSX454 sent it off to get gone through while I am deployed.

Now assuming the rotating assembly checks good(should be fine) Id like to go Supercharged.

I already have a Callies DragonSlayer Crank, Callies Ultra Billet rods, and 11:1 drp pistons.

Now Most people would tell me to opt to a smaller rotating assembly as the wall thickness is worrisome on the LSX blocks at 454.

So me looking at the cost of a new rotating assembly regardless id be buying new pistons. But a smaller stroke Crank and rods is starting to look to cost Near the price of the iron Dart Next blocks(assuming I get some money for the LSX block I may be out ahead)

So with all the talk of them being better, stronger, and one or two builds with 454 assemblies how much testing has happened? I see some magazine articles but its just engine dyno and no real info on the longevity of a Big Cube Fi build.

Thanks
-Alex

Gen2 block? I wouldn't be too worried if you keep things mild

Gen1, no way I would

Looking for around 1k rwhp. Not sold on a blower keeping hearing a twin turbo kit will be about the same and much easier on the motor.

I see dart next blocks for sale never any denoting gen2 though. I have read that dart improved it a lot with the gen2 also.

Mind you this is a street car. So reliability is pretty important.

I gotcha I don't honestly know. I bought the car with the engine.

I was told receipts for everything.....of course it doesn't denote rods crank and actual block. So now it's at tick and we will see. It was worked and installed back in 2013....pretty sure lsx gen1s came out in 07. I don't know when gen2 lsx blocks came out for sure. I was told tall deck gen2. But with my luck it's probably gen1 short deck. It has a ls7 top end on it. Some old guy at a local machine shop said to run that top end it'd have to be a tall deck. No idea if that's true.

A standard DART LS NEXT block would be just fine if you really want to switch but I don't think you are gaining much. If you have the gen2 LSX block already, I would just sell that big crank and drop your cubes into the sub 427 range.

The Dart LS Next block sucks to seal up from experience.

I am making roughly 1350rwhp with twin turbos on my Dart Ls next block right now. It was a 427 and I am dropping cube so to a 402 if that tells you anything.
