gm-8 turbo size and pressure limits

gm-8 turbo size and pressure limits hi guys i have a borg warner gm-8 turbo that was on a 6.5 turbo diesel,, for some strange reason google dosn't like me searching for turbo specs,i thought i would throw it on a 5.3, it seems ok, the motor snaps up to 4000 rpm really fast, i remember a few tow truck guys saying they normally see 5 pounds boost in their GM's,but their running diesels. I would like to know what the intake side and output side sizes are,, also what are your thoughts on the holset x55 turbo?. I heard that normal cruising was up around 14 psi range on a straight 6 cummins, i got this 1 given to me because the last owner snapped the compressor housing snap ring trying to clock it
holset 55 is like the size of an NBA basketball, but has a pretty big compressor wheel..like 75mm IIRC...it might work out okay
the gm IHI/borgs have a tiny compressor wheel. like 60mm or something and a big (~80mm) turbine.
I was in the same boat as you about a year and a half ago. I wanted the insane turbo power numbers people were getting from 5.3's and a shelf with free/cheap turbo parts on it.
eventually I decided on a cookie-cutter kit so if I had issues ( I did) I could ask people who'd been there and done that.
