Ls6 intake worth it?

Default Ls6 intake worth it?

On a boosted ls1 stock bottom with rod bolts. On a mild boost 12-15psi with a 75mm turbo would their be a benefit to using the ls6 intake?

Seems the bottom end at that power would be the limiting factor and the ls6 would be more beneficial for the NA guys?

If the setups done correctly and tuned right, the last thing you'll have a problem with is bottom end power. That said, sure the LS6 intake helps all across the board... You'll make more power per pound.

Do you need every trick to make your hp goal? Having everything matched up is going to work better, but I know more than a couple folks running well into the 8s on stock ls1 intake

No its only a street car and should exceed what I wanted already. But if it made a significant difference in more range or how most comes on I would be interested. If it's only 15 or 20 hp there is no point for the current build.

Ad to that when I decide to rebuild it, it will probably get a sheet metal intake and big boost or something so the ls6 wouldn't be reused anyway

The gains double with every bar of boost run. They also improve quite a bit with a more radical cam. I’ve seen 14whp and 3ft lbs on a C5 switching the stock LS1 to LS6 manifold with no other changes. That’s close to 30whp around 16-17lbs of boost. It also didn’t cost any power at low RPM like aftermarket sheet metal intakes would.

The sheet metal intakes are garbage for 90% of the home built turbo kits out there. The cheap china sheet metal intakes will make less power than the LS6 intake up past 6k or so. You’d be better off keeping the ls6 manifold. The ugly TBSS truck intakes are even better than the LS6.
