Hi some advice would be much appreciated.Application LS1 5.7 in a boat 3000-6500rpm single turbo 750-850 FHP required Just how important is a compressor map ? the BW matchbot calculator came up with a huge turbo110x88 comp 96x88 turbine 1.58 A/R
http://www.turbos.borgwarner.com/go/N8JW6M are the Inputs I have selected in the ball park ?
This sort of power I know can be produced with a much smaller unit but the constant load in a boat application maybe it needs to be big to cope?

You can make that much power with a simple S475 easily. Your simulation looks correct, but your compressor doesn't need to be in the sweet spot at redline. It can start to run off the right side of the chart as you max out. It just means hotter air enters the intercooler. Being a boat I would expect it would have similar aspects to an airplane. Many of those are turbocharged to make up for the loss of altitude, turbo normalized they call it. They too also use a turbo that is at peak efficiency at their cruise rpm. From that standpoint your simulation looks good. Typically they have a larger turbo than you would expect for the power output of the engine. They have like 88mm turbos on about 300hp engines, making no boost at all, just making up for altitude. They also pressurize the magnetos typically as well but this isn't much of a demand.

If it were me I'd try to put the typical cruise RPM data point in the center of efficiency, like maybe 4500 RPM?

In looking at it further I think you would be fine with the 110x73 compressor. It is still 78% efficient at 5k rpm. The compressor in your simulation never gets above about 72%. What do you think?

Thanks for your thoughts Scotty just that in a hydroplane boat the cruse rpm is right up there 5000-6500 currently 7000 with a BBC na We are trying to bring the revs down and use the torque of a turbo and run a bigger step up in the box to keep the prop speed the same.Check out this so you can see what It needs to put up with.
So your think a BW 1400909010 with the same turbine or smaller?
Regards David.
