Thanks for checking.
I don't think the plugs I'm using are the issue as it ran perfect before.
I'll know on Saturday.

As far as being projected, these project about half as far as a TR6. The ground straps show a very normal timing line.

I'll ya all know.

If the first pass is clean at 19 psi I'll see if I can bust into the high 8's.

Good luck Ron, I am missing out this year but my car is in pieces! Hopefully I can make it next year.

It was a good time. I'm sure Zach will fill you in! He has the sbe 5.3 flying.

My car ran flawless. So my fixes worked.
Best 60fts ever, with a best of 1.33. Carried the wheels 30 ft and I shifted 1st to 3rd. Bozo!

My best was 9.17@147. 21 psi. There were no 8's in the house for me.

I drove home in the rain. No wipers, and drag radials. 😓

Ya Zach's crazy if only he listened to half the **** I tell him his car would 60' lol. Your best is identical to my best in e.t. and mph congrats! I spent about 12 hours on the dyno today trying to tune a guys turbo car. I think now he believes me when I told him new builds will have lots of bugs. Kinda messed up though the security light came on and we could never crank the car after that. Didn't get to do the race gas tune.

Cool that its fixed, do you think it was a comb. of things or 1 part. thing.
Did you leave the plugs at .022? I remember we had to close up the gap on a nitrous car running a pretty cold plug, saw a gain in HP

I watched Zach a couple of passes. He was spinning pretty bad. I think I saw 153mph, so he could have gone a high 8.
The track was certainly excellent.

Turbo cars are entertaining on the dyno. Especially if they have a loose converter. We did my friends TT 540 with a powerglide and the wrong converter and it was a disaster. But at the track it ran 8.67@168.
A typical has more money than brains approach.....he doesn't know **** about his combo. Doesn't even look at the gauges on a pass.......

Thanks guys. I can't even hazard a guess at what the actual issue was, but I'm not going to put the old parts back in one at a time to find out. :-)

it was a race, not a TnT so I just quickly checked logs to make sure things were close.
At the same time I was tuning my buddies turbo 408 Malibu wagon so it was a scramble. Next time he is on his own.......

Reviewed my last log and the fuel is quite rich at 10.7:1. Also noted that it hit 170 IAT and was pulling timing past the 1/8 mile.
So I was inching up on boost into uncharted territory in the VE and the car was turning the power down for me. Which is how it goes right?

My intercooler is clearly too small. My buddies wagon by comparison only saw 100 degrees IAT at the same boost level. Tons of space on a Malibu Wagon for a huge IC. No space on a Nova.

His car btw wouldn't hook, and fourth pass lost high gear in the TH400. I think it lasted 8 passes since the last rebuild.......

I'm pleased with my car. The ET's will come. And I had a great time! Nice to run at a real dragstrip.

bummer about your buddies 400. is doing anything weird like shifting into neutral on the big end?

remind me what fuel you run again?

Interesting about your IAT's, I think we have the same IC'er, end of last year I made some passes, in 40 deg weather I saw them in the 130 range with 12.6 lbs boost, I can only imagine in 80+ degs. Something I will keep an eye on-I have run close to 200 degs with a blow thru carb and Procharger, but had the advantage of fuel/air mixture before hitting the head. But maybe the E85 cools better. I do have flex fuel, so plans were to add some E85. Looking thru the flex fuel sensor, its pretty much straight thru, so thinking maybe the sensor reads temps? and the eth. is just cooler?

the FF sensor measures capacitance of the fuel flowing through it, ethanol has a higher capacitance that gasoline. pretty slick little device for $60 or so

I have the little Treadstone. I don't think it's even offered any more.
Sadly, half of it is covered by the bumper, so it doesn't get the best airflow.
Nova's are difficult with the flat nose. Just isn't a lot of room there. And I have no room to move the radiator back at all, and I have the engine back all the way and used C5 corvette accessories.
So maybe a custom IC?
Or add a meth kit, spray 100% meth and use that to both cool and add additional fuel. I'm above 100% IDC as it is, so maybe kill two stones with one bird.

My 12 bolt is now majorly pissed off, howls so bad it hurts my ears, so that needs addressed first.......

I'd like to add a sensor to my car with a readout just so I can keep tabs on my ethanol percentage. Shoot, I could mix the fuel down in content right in the car.

Zeitronix make a standalone display to go with the flex fuel sensor that gives a reading of what it believes to be ethanol percentage.

I have the TVR 25 IC'er
Since I have the Holley HP it was simple to add the GM sen. and program it.
The pump for 93 says 10% eth, but I read 8%, so that's my normal.
Pretty cool to add E85, see it compute the %, then add a % of add. fuel.
Space age hot rodding, lol
