Default Ring gap and cut down holley hi ram questions..

I'm having a Dart block 386ci built now and doing 7 thousandths pistons to wall what will my top and bottom rings ring-gap be? Total seal stainless steel top ring and napier second ring. Also I have the 417 Motorsports 2000HP intercooler how much difference will shortening the Holley Hi rams runners where I dont have to cut my hood?

Follow the directions of the ring manufacturer for gaps. As far as shortening runners, runner length and plenum size is dependent on the intended rpm band of the engine. A lot of math goes into runner length/size and plenum size determination.

7thou sounds like a fair old gap.

And as above, follow ring manufacturers instructions....and never too tight.

And by the time you fit a 2000hp IC on top of the intake and then the lid....how ******* huge is your hood that there is any change of anything fitting under it ? lol
