Default How much does it REALLY cost to go Procharger

I know these things are expensive, but how expensive? I'm not looking for crazy power so I think a dsc1 would make me happy. Also not looking to move or hack anything up under the bumper so I'd stick with the larger twin intercooler setup.

What things do I need vs would be better? Like the aster bracket, at my power levels not needed I believe. I'd just like to know what a good, realistic kit consists of and what it would cost. I don't have a power level goal and I'm not chasing some crazy number.

balancer 430
pinning kit 70
aster bracket 1000 ish
injectors 400 -1500
cbm 8.6 crank pulley 180
fan shroud 150
fans 200
3inch intercooler piping and kit 200
big red race valve , i went enclosed and im happy i did . 380
iat bung welding and race valve welding ???
belt 50
tuning 600
3bar map sensor 40
procharger 1500-3200

go with the aster bracket , its not worth the headaches. i went 6 rib , had issues , went 8 rib with a sdce and wasn't happy with that so i went aster and i've been on the same belt for 3 yrs and 8k miles with a 8.6 crank pulley and 3.7 or 3.8 pulley making 13 -14 lbs at 6500

cut a hole in your bumper and look into the license plate covers for intercooled guys , they use mesh and keep the bird , it gets some flow and look cool . I had twins before and wasnt happy , i myself and my tuner would both recommend meth over the twins . The twins are small and get hot .

Either way get a meth kit too .

I'd like to stay all new.

ramair, you're getting 620 with a stock long block and a P1sc? Not doubting you, that is lot though no? Doesn't seem typical or do I just not know what I'm talking about?

Don't want to cut a hole in the bumper and I have to run a front plate anyway, not even an option not to where I am. Also don't want to run a front mount. I know they are much better but I really do not want to hack this car up - AT ALL. Meth plus twins would would seem sufficient for 500 or so HP. Actually wasn't even thinking about meth before.

Yes stock block , heads and cam . Its a p1sc-1 makes 13-14lbs . most people dont make that much boost , you have to remeber im making that much bc im using a 8.65 crank pulley and a 3.7 or 3.8

most others would be using a 7.65 crank and 3.4 to get boost . Im way ahead of the game and its bc of the aster bracket and cmb or cbm 8.6 crank pulley .

his dyno is accurate too , a stock 5th gen pulled before me and made 365 i think so .

Also mine makes between 570 and 620 depending on temperature.

Is it 5, 6, 7 Grand? I'd feel a lot more comfortable at 5. Why are these things so damn expensive?

The entire kit runs $6600 shipped roughly. thats intercooler and everything including fuel inj, fuel pump and tune.
The tune only works for that system if you have any headers etc youll need a custom tune.
Tuner kits without pump tune and inj runs 5900. thats the p1sc. upgrading to d1 is about $250 extra.
The entire kit is engineered to fit, so its one buy and you are done. not ebay this and amazon that.
They are self contained also so they dont use engine oil to lube them like the vortec lower end kits.

Procharger has always charged a kings ransom for their product, even to freshen up a head unit. All the more reason to go with that other power adder...

Thanks Ws6store.

Yeah they do. I love em, but they are expensive. I like the idea of just buying a kit that has everything I need. New, no searching for parts.

$6,600 shipped? With what intercoolers? The regular or bigger twins?

Thats with the reg twin intercooler.
Most people pay 6k+ for a shortblock...and dont gain as much power honestly. So this is a very solid option. You can always upgrade to the d1 later if its not enough as well.

seems like i see alot of guys getting their kits through bob @brute speed. i wanna say when i priced a kit for the lt1 is was around 6k all inclusive but i dont believe that was with the aster bracket setup. i cant imagine the lt1/ls1 kit varies that much. very tempting these days to freshen up your block and slap a procharger on it

I have ~$4k into my kit, D1SC with 8 rib, extra idler pulley instead of the aster bracket, large FMIC, piping, crank pulley w/ pin kit, etc. Watching the for sale section has its advantages.

I totally agree, but like i said, I don't want to piece something together. I just want to buy one kit and be done.

FMIC's are much cheaper than the twins, can't buy a twin setup for $200 off of ebay.

My problem is that the already cut to fit cold side kits that come with the blowers are outrageously expensive. Like $1000, for something that should be $300 plus a couple hours of time.

But they wont fit exactly like the procharger does and are likely cheap chinese.
If you use the parts that come with the kit, its guaranteed to work.

I know. I'm saying that people spend 2 or 3 hundred dollars on ebay front mounts. Don't really have that option with twin IC's.
