Default Is a T60 turbo to small for a 4.8?

Looking to get my feet wet with forced induction with some parts I have on hand, and was just wondering in the t60 is worth messing with for the short term. If I could make close to 450/500hp on a mostly sbe 4.8. I would be happy.

Thanks.

Which T60? Most of them are on the small side. There are a couple of exceptions.

It's a cheap pos, l was told it was from a sts system. The main goal is to just get a feel for things, and move up from there. Or should l use my GT45 on the 4.8?

thanks.

Most t60's would make for a nice little boost to the 4.8, and would be useful as a starting point for "getting your feet wet", as you say. The big problem that I see going forward is that any future upgrade will cause downpipe fitment problems and necessitate a small variety of other plumbing rework. Since you already want 450-500hp, as a starting point, I would definitely start with minimum 67mm t4 flanged turbo with a decent hotside. This would give a lot more room to grow without quite as many headaches, both in terms of upping the base turbo's output or in upgrading turbos. Just don't start out too big unless you run a high stalled auto, as you don't want your first turbo build to be a laggy disappointment. Just one man's vague and generalized opinion.

If your just looking to "get your feet wet" why not start with a cheap on3 turbo in the $300 range? You can get a 7665 for $300 and make 500rwhp easily..
