S480 Comp wheel

S480 Comp wheel I've got an older style cast BW S480 with a BW race cover and wanted to know if it was possible to upgrade just the Comp wheel to a Billet 85-88mm and machine out the Race cover to suit.

Most are going to tell you it won't be worth it. The standard cast wheel with race cover will be able to out flow the turbine wheel up to about maxing the 96mm. You will get to the max flow in the turbine faster with more cubes. You would be better off just upgrading the whole unit. I spoke about this very topic with the guys over at FI. I run their s480 with race cover and 92mm turbine. At 22-23psi I'm at 990 wheel through a unlocked 4l80.
