Default Stainless steel turbo headers



I was wondering if there is anyway to keep the stainless steel look on my headers. I know that the turbo housing needs coated but i like the raw look of the headers and was wondering if anybody has had any luck with keeping then original looking. Thnx

I just left my Stainless Works headers "raw" and they still look great. A little blue coloration close to the head due to heat, but overall they still look very nice.

Are those custom headers?

Sooo I realize they look badass but I mean you realize they glow super red hot which heat soaks your engine bay correct? And by trapping the heat with coating and or wrap you cause the exhaust gasses to further heat which means it will expand. This in turn increases the velocity of the exhaust gasses pushing against your turbine causing it to spool faster. Just a fui

no. They are the cxracing headers. This is a junkyard 5.3. With the exception of the csu carb this whole motor is a budget build.

Dang that is a tight hot side. I assume no A/C and top mounted alternator is required? Its even close to the water pump and crank pulley.

Anyways, I believe they make a clear ceramic coating now that would help some with the heat and still give you the stainless look you want. I had mine powder-coated instead of wrapped and never had an issue with stock plug wires melting or anything.

Which CX Racing headers are they? Do you know if you can get any stock front accessories on with them at all? I have been wondering what would/could clear with their product, but since they do not make a specific kit for my truck, they won't really say much to me.

this is the turbo header kit for the 98-02 camaro f body. I plan on putting this in an 85 cutlass. Ive read some reviews and it appears to b able to fit several muscle car combos due to its tight bends. It looks like it will fit but i havent tried it yet. U can run stock water pump and high mount alternator. U wont b able to run ac compressor though.

Man that’s a poorly designed hotside for plug access. I’d heat it up good with a torch and dent the crap out of it by the plugs to give you a little wiggle room and plug wire life. The tubing on the china stuff is usually pretty thin. So wrapping them is generally a bad idea anyway. Just let it eat the way it is with ceramic plug boots and boot sleeve heat wrap.

Amazes me that companies design like this when it comes to plug access.
I've been working on a 2010 Camaro with a Huron single turbo kit and as near as I can tell you need to remove the drivers side manifold to change the plugs. It's nuts.
