Default Thoughts on this 68-72 A-body turbo kit ???

I am a noob @ forced induction guys......
So keep in mind, I'm sure this isn't super speed racer stuff here. Yes, I'm stuck on a twin turbo plan.

Just looking to get my feet wet on a twin turbo build in my 70 Olds 442.
If I can do better, I have a welder at my disposal, but I liked the fact this was plug n play.

Thoughts ???
If someone can give me an idea on a parts list that would be great for an LY6 / T-56 build I'm installing.
I am ALL EARS , but like I said I'm extremely new to this and not talented enough to build my own set without education.

If someone can clue me in on a specific parts list, aside from the tube welding I'd like to see what
cost would be BEFORE the welding but I don't know much about these turbos, or parts.

I would honestly prefer a quality vendor with a reputation over Ebay if all else fails.

I build my own hot and cold sides on all my cars.

Speedway motors hs a nice 2 or 2 1/4 exhaust mandrel kit, comes with enough stuff to build 2-3 kits, $150.

Flange $20

i run cheap gates, $50'each. But you can buy whatever you please.

$30 worth of v bands

stock manifolds,

ive had good luck with it anyways, but the ease of just bolting on a kit is nice also!

I saw that kit, still made my own. There are a couple build threads on here that are worth looking at for ideas. Are you keeping inner fenders and a/c? The cheap ebay headers work well with the holley engine mounts and oil pan.

I do anticipate putting AC in the car, as we're going to be relocating
down south to Arizona most likely. Fender wells would probably be used.

I'd like to keep it looking factory from the exterior of the car.

Stock manifolds and v bands are a good route. I personally have no experience with cx racing. Probably could save a good chunk of change building your own, use thier set up as a guide if you like how it looks.

Here's what i have been working on for my chevelle. I wasnt worried about a/c or inner fenders tho. I was going to trim some to fit, or have custom ones made. https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-in...lle+twin+turbo
Lots of good info in this build, clean looking also!!

I'm curious how the car routes the hot side on the drivers side, there is a steering shaft and the pivot for the control arm is very tight to make the bend below the Brake master cylinder... I have a 72 Monte and I'm planning my build a single with the exhaust and turbo mounted on the passenger side, being a driver with AC and PS I want an exhaust or I'd do a fender exit and that's very simple...

I purchased their manifolds from this kit and sent them straight back. They were barley 1-5/8" and didn't fit worth a damn.
Here's my build:

I am also curious, now that you mention it.
I asked them if they wouldn't mind sending me the installation instructions.

Maybe I can get a better idea from that.
Can't blow $4 grand without assuring the customer if it will work.

Thanks man!

With twins- the bigger, the better. I used 1-7/8" because l92-ls3 runners are just under that. I'm very happy with spool time and power.

I did use a cxracing intercooler and quality is ok but heavy due to cast tanks. I'll be making a new one soon.

I am in the middle of my Twin's into a 72 Chevelle and looked at their kit a lot but for the money I am saving I am glad I am going my route. Also remember their kit is not complete. Fuel system is missing.

Thanks for the input. I think this is the kit you're referencing..

Got any recommendations on turbo's, gates, intercooler, etc ??? Looking for input that's comparible.

I'm still new to turbo's so I'm not too savvy , but learning my options.

I can't post non sponsor links, depending how **** you are on where your stuff comes from, check out VsRacing, 210# injectors are $550, I'd run twin 44mm wastegates, vs has them around $75 each. Bov same deal, 50mm is around $70. They carry several I tercoolers also.

FWIW, I would not spend all that money on that kit. I just saw the Holley 74 Chevy wagon. It had their new cast log system and a BW 475. Looked super clean and it had AC...That same set-up will fit in a 64-72 A-body as well.
