Jam? We could play "guess this cam"

I think I could get close, but the lobe is a tough nut to crack from a blind dig

best to buy one from the boys who made it happen. So ima keep my guesses to myself

TJ from Baker Engineering has spec'd all the cams. I bought a copy of the first 5.3 cam he ran.

The cam is the jam? I’m sure it helps.
I’d say tickling 35 psi boost is the real Jam.

Get ready boys I’m coming for the record. Just went 1.51 60 3.54 330 at Muncie Sunday. Stock gen 3 5.3 with just a cam, ls9 gaskets and a blow thru on pump gas. Lifted a head at 200 foot because I was to aggressive on the timing. 15 lbs on Precision 98. Big tire extremely light car. New motor is going in as we speak. Also need a ladder bar change. Basket balled the tires from hittting them to hard.

That 60 was from the wrong setting on the ladder bars. I still have the suspension adjusted from when it was bracket car with the bars in the top hole. Came up, unloaded and did that a couple more times basketballing. If it would have lifted the head even with that launch it would of been 3.40’s. We will see next week at Muncie what happens also going to be on C16.

I'm not dumb and I feel like I have a fair amount of knowledge in this field. How come if we are working so hard to set stock bottom end records we aren't using a high quality high dollar head with great valve train? One of the things I've noticed is that quite a few of the set ups that are record holders lack dollars in certain areas where major improvements could be made. It's amazing what has been done on this engine with a stock bottom end and factory casting heads. I just feel like we could push it that much further with some super high quality parts where we can to still say stock bottom end record.

Running SBE stuff is all about going fast on the cheap. Spending $2k on heads doesn't really fall into the cheap category.

The guys going 4.5 and 4.4 on stock blocks have high dollar heads and rotating assemblys. SBE with stock crank, rods, pistons, the stock heads are fine.

The guys getting it done the "stockest", are the ones who inspire the most praise. Theres plenty faster, but stocker than this one? Not yet to my knowledge

The approach here is well thought out and impresses with stock casting heads, still on 4 bolts and not run dry ( filled ) Then add the 35psi makes this build unique for its time

Are you sticking with the gen3 engine or going to gen4?

To finish the season out I got another gen 3 since the 6010 box is 24x specific. Off season I’ll be swapping to the 6014 box which has both hook ups, I’ll run the new engine to failure then put a gen 4 in.
