Default Electrical gremlin after scavenge pump install

After I installed my scavenge pump and ran the car I decided to head to the track. Car started and loaded just fine got to the track and started and back off the trailer. Got everything ready for tech and started the car up but after tech the car would not start. Had no power to anything guages, lights, ect. . . So I checked grounds, the starter and a few other things. Even put the car on a battery charger to no avail. Hooked the car to my wifes van and it started but would not hold an idle. So loaded back up just to get it home. The car died getting on the trailer but started right up and actually help a normal idle but decided not to mess with it and get the thing home. Once home the car would not start again and had no power to anything electrical. I took the battery in to be tested and it tested fine so tossed it back in and the car started up no problem.

Now all of this is after installing a scavenge pump which I wired into a relay which used the signal wire from the fuel pump at the fuse box by the power post on the drivers side. Would that cause an issue? The relay I installed is grounded to an existing ground post and power supplied by the power post at the fuse box. I have had this car for 13 years and never had a starting or electrical issue until this so I am not sure where to start.

Any help is appreciated and if you have questions let me know.

Thanks,
Kyle

It is unlikely that it has anything to do with the pumpitself. Symptoms lead to a poor connection at the battery cables. I would double check all your connections grounds included. A poor connection due to paint or corrosion can easily cause your symptom.

Yup sounds like a loose/poor connection. Check major power supply (i.e. batter/alternator) connections and grounds

Ill recheck everything It just seemed strange to happen after the pump install and wiring. Thank for the thoughts now to chase wires.

Run the pump off of a "key on" power source from the interior fuse box. No need for a relay, especially no need to try tying into anything fuel related to run the pump.
