wiring E boost2 for external setpoints--ground triggers
I may try a boost by gear using the PCM control of A & B solenoids in the transmission.
First I'm going to use the fan output from the PCM. It has enable and disable speeds, so it'll be a boost by speed of sorts.
My question is in wiring these things up.
The boost controller needs a ground signal for external switches. The trans solenoids as well as the fan are controlled by PCM triggering a ground.
I was thinking I'd use a FP relay and use the ground signal from the PCM pull the relay coil to ground....but it'd be the same ground as the PCM is on, so do I need to add the complexity of the relay?
I am not certain what type of switch it is. A machine shop machined the factory shifter and installed it. The switch itself is really a rocker style switch. Perhaps a double throw normally open switch? It only has three wires - orange, green, and black. I was asked what colors I wanted and I chose them to make it easy. Obviously, the green and orange go to the corresponding EB2 wires and the black is grounded to the dash frame.
Pressing up grounds the green wire. Pressing down grounds the orange wire.
