Check with Bob at Brute Speed. I think he used to have an 8.65 8 rib which is one inch more than the standard 7.65 crank pulley for a D1 with an ATI damper.
A 7.65 crank pulley with a 4 inch head unit pulley at 6250 is still under the max propeller speed of the D1. Seems like the lower the OD of the head unit pulley with an 8 rib the more likely there will be belt slip.
