Stripped
ok just need some opinions here mabie someone else has ran into this problem I’ve done some searches and I’ve seen nothing!!
long story short
just recently bought used d1 kit for my 00z28, while installing I was having problems with the head unit tightening up and noticed it has some stripped threads on like 3 bolt holes
should I send off to Procharger ?
or try to fix myself?
If so has any one done this ? Any tips, sizes, tools, or anything special I need to know? any feed back would help!
thanks.

You could prob drill out the holes and do a heli coil, but you would have to be careful and not drill to deep-some people are animals when it comes to screws and aluminum, lol. Stainless bolts need Anti-Seize when going in alumn.
So tru, I screwed up a head drilling too deep. I learned my lesson.
Prob a local machine shop could do it for you if you didn't have the stuff, the bolts have to go in straight as most of those them are allen head, counter sink into the brackets, so no room for being off.
I have had a bunch of Prochargers over the years, what I have found is sometimes the bolts are to long, bottom out before it tight, and people crank down on them thinking not all the way in, and get stripped.
