Question Valve train choices...

After research on here and other sites, I'm pretty set on Powell Machine 243 style heads. Building a street/strip 800 whp twin turbo stock cubic inch 5.3 LC9, backed by a T56. I'm thinking 2.00" Stainless intake (should I go hollow stem?), 1.60" inconel (should I go hollow stem here also?). Dual spring or single? Spring height? (suggestions on cam lift). Titanium or Steel?, etc...

Opinions on how to best fit out a bare set of ported heads for boost. Any other info on my potential combo needed to help assist on assembly? Thanks.

Id definately go with a set of titanium duals if u can afford them. A set from BTR or PAC will work perfect.

as for the valves i wouldnt go hollow. They are bad about braking with serious power. I would probably try something like stainless valves or stock replacements. Your choice. Just my .02

Stock valves have lived at much higher power than what you are wanting.

And stock LS6 243 or newer 5.3 799 heads have made that power as well. No need for ported heads.

Question. If you maximize efficiency of the NA engine you should require less boost to accomplish the same horsepower correct? It should also have less chance of detonation at a lower boost level during peak power along with better response/power off boost for a street driven car correct? Totally new to boost so I need some help here. Thanks.

Rule of thumb is what ever hp it makes on motor will usuallly double at 14.7psi boost. If everything works correctly!!

Hi DH, PLEASE do not be a FOOL AND believe the BAD TECH here at LS-1 Tech.

A set of PSI LS-1511-ML springs would be a perfect fit for your requirement.

I can supply OR buy direct !

I too agree, fit some S/S Valves, I sell BBB Valves
