Questions on compression and boost.
Bob, this is Jeff. I'm pretty sure I have an idea of who you are referring to, The gentleman bought my old 98 trans am. Which I built from the ground up. Drove it hard for a little over a year, sold it to another gentleman, he drove it for a year. Then sold it to the gentleman who owns it now. He called me shortly after he bought the car and said how impressed he was with the car. But wanted more. I then told him that supercharger setup is an old mechanical tensioner that doesn't do well with belt growth in the high rpms. To which he replied yeah I know I just cranked the tensioner down real tight and im getting 12# of boost.(never seen over 10# when I owned it). Not a good idea i told him. You will run into issues. He said I know but its so much fun. Long story short. He ends up breaking belts, and eventually managed to break his supercharger pulley off the crank and ran it over at the track. This kit is not a kit sold by us (torqstorm) it is a kit for the 4th gen f bodies that is specific to one retailer. None of these parts are in stock and told him to get another pulley could be 3-4 weeks because we are so busy right now. He did not want to wait, and ended up purchasing a Procharger kit from you.
We have revised almost every kit so far to a better belt drive with an automatic tensioner. Now seeing virtually no belt slip. We know we have a great product and nothing to hide, that is why I felt it was important to be ahead of this and tell the story so no one thinks we have a bad product.
Unfortunately his issue was self inflicted by improper use of the product.
If you have anymore questions or concerns Cypris09, or anyone for that matter, I would be glad to help.
