Default D1SC with 408 and Twin IC setup

Hey Guys, I'm in the process of installing everything on my 01 WS6 and I want to make sure I'm not overthinking things too much. I got the dual 3.5" setup and I'm looking to run a single m15 alky control setup at about 10-12lbs (whatever a 4.0 pulley will do). I really don't have a HP goal so to speak, but the car makes about 510RWHP now on motor. I made the choice for that setup for a few reasons. 1st being I'd rather not cut up the front of the car. 2nd I've heard about issues with running AC and a FMIC and the car getting too hot.. 3rd its a much easier setup. This is first and foremost a street car and its running in TX...... Do you think this will be too restrictive of a setup? Has anyone gone from something like this to the procharger FMIC on a setup similar to mine? If I did go with the FMIC instead would I need the alky system at all? Again, I'm not looking to break some HP record here.

Here is a breakdown of the car parts that should somewhat matter.

408
10.2:1 compression
Frankenstein LS3 Heads
236/246 638/622 114+4
Fast LSX 102 intake
NW 102 TB

It’s my understanding that the dual IC’s become a restriction around 12lbs or so. Without seeing all the components of your build I can’t really say what you boost level will be but we can surmise that your engine breaths well with that cam @ 13* overlap & I would assume full exhaust. With that said & coupled with the fact that this is not a max effort track car ... I would think you are safe with the dual IC system. Yes, the propper FMIC will outperform the dual system but ... if the three points you make in your argument are important to you, that’s the route you can safely go.
As far a meth goes: you don’t need it at that level ... but I like it at any boosted level. Tuned for safety is added protection on a very expensive motor. Your combustion chamber will love the cooling effects & the intake stays nice & clean.

Have fun !

The dual 4.5s would be better.

Yes 4.5s would be better but he's got what he's got.

I looked into this setup for the same exact reasons you listed. FMIC's aren't for everyone. According to what I've heard from knowledgeable people, the dual setup isn't bad initially, but the IC's get hot much faster. I'd still run the dulas personally.

Aluminum or plastic plenum? If plastic I would replace with an aluminum plenum.

IMO venting the bypass to atmosphere will help a bit too. No use to keep recirculating hot air.

In KS I could never keep intake temps down with the 3 1/2 kit. It was 102 on Friday at 5pm and 132 14 inches off the ground in the asphalt parking lot. IMO the twins placement just don't allow enough ambient air flow because of their location.

Aluminum slready and BOV has been placed on the plenum. I agree with the placement issues. I’m in Texas and I’m concerned with the heat too. I’ll have the alky control setup shooting into the plenum and I’m hoping that will be enough for whatever the 4.0 pulley pushes out.

You will find that the 4.0 pulley makes boost a lot quicker than the 4.5 supplied with the original kit. With the 408 should be a monster.

Assume you already know that the tiny air filter supplied with the 3.5 kit is a restriction so make sure to install a much larger air filter.

Gates has a new supercharger belt line now too, called RPM. Supposed to really reduce belt slippage compared to the FleetRunner green belt. I would automatically start with an RPM belt if you don't have an Aster Bracket.

Any any idea on the belt size with the 4.0 and 7.65?
