Supercharger advice
I'm looking to add forced induction to my lq4 swap. I run turbos on my 4 cyl stuff but doing this with lsx is new to me. Right now, I'm leaning towards the vortech v3 procharger setup. The lq4 is swapped into a 1982 Volvo 242 and has the ls1 car FEAD (ps/alt/wp). I'm just starting to research this stuff and trying to generate a parts list for a budget to compare with a comparable turbo approach. I have a couple questions if anyone has experience running this stuff:
-Vortech seems to offer 2 versions - a truck FEAD setup that uses the 6 rib belt and a corvette setup that uses an aux 10 rib belt driven by an aux pulley on the harmonic. Obviously, neither would be a 100% fit out of the box. It seems I could make the truck version work by cutting down the bracket spacers to align with my car offset FEAD or I could make the corvette kit work with a racing style balancer for the ls1 car acc offset.
-Is one of these setups preferable to the other - assuming each would work?- Any other general tips or advice on what to look out for with the procharger upgrade?
