Default LS6 Intake Vacuum Port

Hey guys, How do I use this port properly for my BOVs on my TT setup? Is there a quick connector I am supposed to use? Do I just zip tie my vacuum hose to this? The little lip on it makes me think there should be some sort of release connector. Thanks

GM uses a quick-connect fitting there for the evap solenoid. I just have a rubber hose clamped to it and haven't had any problems. You can shove a 5/16 hose on over the lip if you believe in yourself.

Something like what is pictured in the link is what fits over the lip/ridge on the port. Not sure if the port is 3/8 or 5/16. Looks like a 3/8 or 6an. There are usually at least two Orings inside the quick connect that seal the connection. There are a variety of quick connects and you can get what ever size you need. You can buy these at a local Advance Auto as well.

To remove you need a set of quick connect release tools (small plastic inserts you push into the connector to release the plastic retainer inside the housing).

For this particular fuel line quick connect the plastic/nylon line is heated and pushed onto the end. But for a vacuum line rubber hose or nylon hose would work. I would use a zip tie to secure the line or spring clamp or Oteker Clamp. Nylon won't deteriorate or dry rot like rubber hose does over time.

BTW - this port on the manifold ultimately connects to the port on the gas tank. So if it's been disconnected I would make sure you account for that. It's purpose is too draw fumes out of the gas tank and discharge into the manifold thru this port. There would have been two solenoids, one on the manifold and one near the fuel tank. Both are powered with electric current. You will get a DTC code if they aren't connected and/or working.
