Default S475 goals

Hey guys I have a 94 z28 and I’m new to the boost game. I’m planning on a lq4 with gen 4 rods and pistons, ljms stage 2 cam, s475 t6 1.32, th400 and ptc convertor, e85 with Bosch 210’s and dual 450’s or a Magnafuel 4303, 2.25 in crossover truck manifold and c6 manifold for ac. I’m wondering if a s475 will get me to my goals or if I need to hold out for a cast s480. I’ve been 6.18 at 108 with nitrous at 640 rwhp and the car weighed 32-3300. I would like to be in the low 6’s high 5’s range and the car will be a littler heavier with the iron block and putting accessories back in, so I would assume 700-800 rwhp is what it will take. Wondering if a cast s475 will get me there I like the price range I’d like to keep it under $1000 if possible I looked into vs racing’s billet 80 it’s right at the budget margin.

I have the cast cheap s475 in my fox body. I run a lq4 with gen4 pistons and rods. I had Bullet do a cam for me since we deal with them on most of our customer and other race stuff. But it's pretty similar to ljms stage 3 cam. With a 1.80 powerglide 4.10 gears and PTC billet converter weighing in at 3180 with me in the car I've gone 5.59@125. I know I'm still giving up a little bit in the first 100'. So I think I've got a 5.50 in mine and that run was done in 3300' density altitude. We dyno'd this engine, trans, turbo and converter in our old car that had a cheap a/a and on HP tuners and it made right at 800whp at 17psi. The new car has W/A and Holley HP based off calculations it should be right about 820-830 wheel but the turbo is all done now. Just picked up a billet 480 for next year to try. So with a good a chassis and right converter it'll meet your goals no doubt.

Thanks rick! I recently sold my coupe which had the same ls1 that went 6.18 in my fbody but never had enough time to set the suspension and test before I sold it. I’m currently buying the fbody back and starting over. Good to know I can achieve the goal fairly easily. I’ve see where a nova went easy 5’s with a box s475 on here. So I’ll give it a go and see how it does. I’m debating going microsquirt this go around instead of hp tuners and having someone tune it.

Yeah I had my drivetrain in an 87 cutlass and ran 6.15 foot braking with basically no boost on the 3rd run with the car and it weighed 3670. We never spent much time on that chassis to get it to really work fought a couple other issues then went to the fox chassis. so yeah if everything meshes you shouldn’t have any trouble what’s so ever getting into the 5s. Good luck
