Default K member and ac.

I’ve searched and seen a few threads where people have been using a stock k member and made there own mounts with ac. But if I am only running the downpipe out of the fender is there any reason I can’t use the ac in factory location with a c6 manifold? I’m not against buying a k member for the weight savings and clearance but it’s just going to be a street car with a s475 and amenities. I figure the bmr and pa racing k members are designed for clearance with a downpipe going through the k member. I can fabricate and weld so I’m not worried about making it fit just wondering if the downpipe is the reason or if the hotside fitting with stock mounts is the reason.

As long as you can figure out how to get the crossover through the K member and keep the A/C it will work. Possibly by putting the crossover through where the alternator would go.

With a stock k member, you won't be able to snake the pipe around the compressor, even with a fabbed up motor mount. I'd suggest just using a stock drivers manifold and going back and around the trans. Send the cross over through the drivers side. That's what i did.

Thanks for the replies guys! I guess I’ll quit being cheap and just save for the k member. I feel like I’m asking too much for ac, stock fans and a t6 turbo 😂 I’m an fbody but after having a fox body last I’m ready to get back into my old camaro. Anything’s possible if you put in the time and work.

Not really....others have done it. Hiflo turbo, Phamspeed etc. Just depends on what you're willing to do.
