What is the CR with 6.0l heads?
I have a 99 LS1 and I just bought a set of 6.0l heads.
What will the compression ratio be with a stock bottom end?
I am also considering going with a set of 4340 rods and Mahle pistons with -2cc valve reliefs. How much of a difference will that make?
I don't want the CR to get so low that the car is a dog without boost, I still want it ot be nce to drive around.
The last questions are regarding how much boost I can run with this setup.
6.0l heads and stock bottom end?
6.0l heads, 4340 rods, forged -2cc pistons?
I would like to run 10#'s, how much power can I hope for with a good set of turbo headers and a decent turbo cam?
Thanks
Keith Quinn.

You have a 346 inch motor with a fairly big stroke compared to most engines with comparable displacements. If you go from 10:1 to 8:1 you might lose 10-15 RWHP all across the board, but you arn't going to notice it at all. When you're driving off boost it's low load, part throttle putzing around town. Do you think that 10 horsepower really matters when you're gently pulling away from a traffic light? Or would you rather be able to run more boost on pump gas, and make a lot more horsepower for when you're getting on it and want power? I don't know about you, but i'll take low compression and high boost over high compression and low boost any day of the week.
