Default Pro charger d1x

I'm kicking around the idea of building a boosted 434 to go in my 71 Chevelle. It's an erl sleeved ls2 block with a 4.155 bore x 4.00 stroke, compression will be around 10.1. I have both a stock ls7 and ls3 topend that I can use. I'm not looking to chase numbers, but I'd be happy with 600rwhp. I was originally going to build a high compression N/A engine with aftermarket heads, intake, etc. But after adding up the costs, it's not much more to build a boosted engine.

I know that I could reach my goal with a smaller engine but this is what I have. The car will be mostly street driven. I'm still in the planning stage right now, what do most people put down with an engine this size supercharged? Will a p1sc or p1x be enough for my needs? The reason I'm deciding to go supercharged is that I can build a more tamed engine with more power. Is it woth it to use the ls7 top end over the ls3 top end?

A stock 4.8 with a D1x would make more than 600whp.

If you're going boost, you can literally use any head/intake combo you want, even factory stuff, and 600whp will be done by accident.
I would probably go the cheap route and toss on stock LS3 heads/intake for now. You'll make 800whp with a D1x and stock LS3 top end on pump gas by accident.

A agree. A D-1SC with 8 psi with the LS3 heads and intake can make 700 rwhp with a good cam on that combo. Bob

Take a look at the above link. ProCharger has had their kits in this location for the 98-02 F Body since the early 2000's. Thanks. Bob

Not a fan of the intercooler location. Looking for a front mount intercooler.
