Default First TVS2650 GTO!

SBE LS2, with stock LS3 heads and a Comp LSR cam 231/239 113 which was retained from the original H/C/i build. 10-11 psi, e60, car made 727/705 on 17 degrees of timing with a Harrop tvs2650 blower. I put their billet blower spacer in, which added about 1.125" in height, so I think we would have hood clearance without the spacer, and possibly could also add lower engine mounts for even more space. Jorge loves the setup for a nice budge build on a SBE. Here is some video of the car. Jorge was partway though a hood build, as hes a body guy. He made the makeshift intake and the car is tuned on VE with no MAF. The fuel system I built uses a 3.5L surge tank with twin dw350il pumps from Deatschwerks and some of their 1500cc injectors. Upper pulley is only a large 3.22" unit and we have a stock pinned GTO damper on the crank. Massive improvement over the LSA blower the car had previously with its 2.38" upper. Blower speed is slower than a factory LSA engine, yet the power is around where many full head/cam/pulley/e85 LSA cars end up. We didn't know what kind of boost we would see, so the conservative upper pulley ended up being great. He has a forged iron 6.0 to swap in with a custom cam for the big blower, and will do a 10 percent overdrive 8 rib lower, and full 8 rib conversion and shoot for 20psi when ready.

Congrats! Nice to see that blower actually put on something. Seemed like a unicorn for awhile.

I put one on a 2015 Zl1 as well. That one made 1004 ft/lbs at like 3000rpm and over 800 right at the hit at like 2100. The 408 was actually out of camshaft with the BTR stage 3 LSA cam it had, so the power up top was only 836 with the peak being in the low 5k range. That was all at only 20psi, so we will revisit the setup when Andrew the owner comes around so I can do a fast cam swap to move that powerband up. But yeah, its a great unit that simply just picks up where the maxed ported 1900/2300 units leave off, so I am anxious to try it on a combo thats fully dialed in. They are priced really well, about what most blower kits run, and built really well.

Yeah, its pretty cool. It seems to be the case that the big blower likes the overlap. The ZL1 car was not nearly as efficient with its BTR LSA stage 3 cam. Its as if the lack of overlap is there to trap the boost with smaller overspun LSA blowers, but ends up being a restriction on this unit. That car noses over hard after 5000, but it also has a 408" shortblock. Its just the wrong cam for the application in that case.

The GTO, when you look at it, stock LS3 heads untouched, the 231/239 comp cam with a 113 LSA, on only 10-11psi making 727whp... Compare that to any ported 1900 blower, head/cam LSA setup and they have to run much more boost to get in that range. Thats with a 3.22" upper pulley, and a factory GTO damper that is pinned. I think the car could be pulley'd to make 1000 but it would probably not hold together too long. For a blower car, its doing decent.
