So I got a lq4 engine with a 76/77 turbo, its on e85. Im tuning with efi live and have an autometer wideband, its still on pump fuel stoich setting and its at 11.2 af the hole way, timing is 20 degree at 10psi of boost, plugs are tr6 at 28 gap, fic 95lb injectors. Engines seems to run smooth and has good power as it runs low 10s high 9s on that tune up, whats odd is a lot of black smoke out the tailpipe, I look in my mirror and I can actully see it behind me. Even at 12.0 af im getting it, maybe a little less but still there. It seems the wideband is reading right as its 14.7 down the road, o2 sensors seem to be reading correct a/f aswell. Any ideas what might cause the black smoke?
Iv actully never had the plugs out, was thinking I need to put a fresh set in and do dyno pull or track pass and yank them out and read them, see what I got, just kind of a pain to get to them. Iv had spark blow out before and you can always feel that, this you would never know has a problem if it wasnt for the smoke. Just figured id pick some brains to see if im missing anything, just seems like it would have to be wayyy fat to actually see smoke
