Default LS7 lifters

Moved here from the Internal engine forums.
How high have you guys run seat and open pressures on an LS7 lifter successfully? And at what RPMs? Looking at a set of BTR duals and a 7k shift point. Cam is mild .570 lift

Never built anything I really worried about that with. I’m whipping my truck to 7200 with a cam about that size with ls6 springs on stock lifters and pushrods.

My car has a bigger cam (), to about 7k, with btr duals on stock 150k mile lifters. It’s doesn’t have much time on it though (I need to update my build thread).

havent had a lifter failure in 15 years. But then again I haven’t blown up the 60e in my truck. So I have pretty good luck with stuff that shouldn’t survive what I do with it

I didn’t. BTR duals and LS7’s.
Not sure that’s necessary unless you are pushing limits.

Do you have a valve spring tester? I’d think a guy would want to know the resulting spring pressure after shimming to within .060” of coil bind.

I’ve no clue what the “LS7” lifter limits are. I have them I’m both my engines. One set is great, the other set seem to have a high bleed rate.

Based on the rate of the .660 spring being 370, it’s easily calculated.
Coil bind height (1.070)+.060+lift (.570 in my case)=new installed height (1.700).
On the seat at 1.78 = 155

rate x reduction on installed height + original seat rate = new seat rate ([370 x .080]+ 155) = 184.6.
