Ls turbo wastegate down pipe?
I've been told that venting the wastegate to atmosphere provides more accurate control since the gas leaving the wastgate doesn't have to contend with the possible pressure in a full exhaust system.
I have no data to support this but what I can tell you is it will sound different, my WG vents to atmosphere and I can definitely hear it when it opens.
Plumbed into the exhaust would negate this of course.
If you look at most builds they vent to atmosphere as well.

Just make sure its pointed somewhere safe, you'd be surprised how far the super heated exhaust will shoot outta that pipe lol.
