Default Turbo kit for a Silverado

Alright guys I need to pick your brain. I have an 01 Silverado 2500 HD we're going to put a turbo on it, and I need to know if a kit for a 2011 is that much different than a 2001. Could I modify the kit to work or should I have to modify it at all? I'm MacGyver so I'm thinking yeah I can and for the cost of this one I can't go wrong. Looking to just get a basic kit setup and installed and will upgrade the turbos and things later. Thanks for any input you guys can help out with...as I am an N/A engine builder and this is the first forced induction motor I'm going to put together and quite some time

Cold side will probably be a little bit of a disaster. Core support, rad, etc is all different. But I’m sure you can hack it together. I’d be amazed if there are any notable issues on the hotside.

If you can MacGyver things ,you can build your own hot side with the existing manifolds flipped forward - not too hard.
intercooler and piping kits are available everywhere - cheap

Also, switching to electric fans opens up more room. For even more options, you can find other stock manifolds from a variety of ls powered vehicles to allow for different configurations. If you are willing to do a log style kit you have yet more options. If you truly have any sort of welding and fab skills there is almost no reason to buy a premade truck kit other than just not having time to make your own. The stickies have so many pics of kits other people have made, that there should be no lack of ideas.
