Default Who has boosted the Dorman LS2 intake?

Just wondering how much boost the Dorman LS2 can take. From actual first hand knowledge. Thanks in advance.

Several people have had them come apart with boost.
Dorman isn't great at making sure their manifolds stay glued together.

Thanks for your reply. Could you link me to any threads where the manifold blew up? Thanks

My $388 Amazon Dorman LS2 intake has held 15-16 psi hundreds of times so far on a, new for this season, turbo build.

As well as all last year, bracket racing (with some street fun & test and tunes) with a 200-250 wet shot of nitrous.

I haven't read or heard of one coming apart, but would be curious to see some links, if there have been any around here.

Interested to hear about this. I have one sitting on my workbench. I'm looking at switching from a single plane back to a plastic intake.

This morning, I have Googled every combination of words I could think of, regarding a boost related Dorman LS2 intake failure...
and I found absolutely nothing...

In fact, haven't had any luck finding ANY history of failures of the Dorman LS2 intakes...

When I first got my car back together, after the turbo addition, a few months back, I went a bit too far retarded on ignition timing, causing fairly pronounced backfiring through the intake on quick throttle changes...if it was going to blow apart, I'd think it would have then...if not then, then definitely during a nitrous backfire...

OR, it simply isn't a legitimate, fact based, worry...

I looked quite a bit myself, but couldn't find anything. Hopefully AwesomeAuto will shed some light on this.

Look on Yellowbullet, thats where I seen them. Both failures of the LS2 and LS6 dorman intakes.
Facebook used to be full of them when one of the guys on the sloppy mechanics facebook page blew one up right after they released at ~20 PSI.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

Bottom Line...
If you have to dig all around the internet, and look that hard to try to find an issue...then there really isn't an issue.

Dorman may have changed the glue or mfg method to improve the product. I wouldn't be concerned about using one unless running > 25psi.

I'll let everyone know how mine holds up. I got one from Amazon warehouse deals for $138.00

It's missing some items like the fuel rail brackets and o rings, but I'll piece that together (unless someone has spares?).

I've been running 15lbs on mine. I have one of the first one when they just came out. I've yet to see a failure. To anyone claiming they have seen failures, I'd be interested in seeing proof, not just a he said she said or I heard it on the internet kind of thing. Link it. Prove it. pics. video. Something, otherwise I dont see truth in any claims. I've seen 19psi on mine to.

What fuel rails did you use? I'm missing the angle brackets and dorman won't sell me them.
