Default Exhaust with procharger

How much gain can be had on a procharger setup by moving to 2” primary headers and 3” duals?

Currently running 1 3/4” primary headers with 3” collectors and 2 1/2” dual exhaust with x pipe.

If you find some 2" reasonably priced GTO headers that fit please let me know. I am in the same boat as you only I am running 3" duals from the collectors all the way back.

I would have to see some gains that justify the cost first. I had a friend dyno a procharged 427 at 19 psi he only picked up 11 rwhp going from full exhaust to open headers. I don’t remember the exact numbers but going to higher boost at near 1700 rwhp the open headers started really making a difference.

I do like my quiet magnaflow catback just curious how much I’m giving up to see if it’s worth making a change.

You could always measure exhaust pressure to get an idea. I'd keep what you have and add cutouts.

How well do electric cutouts work? Mostly concerned with sealing when closed so I don’t have a crappy sounding exhaust leak.

ETA: in the example I gave above I’m thinking maybe his 3” exhaust with mufflers flowed so well there wasn’t much to be gained by removing it until the power levels get stupid or most of the gains are in header primary size since he had 2” primaries.

I've ran them on every boosted LS I've built. They're the best way to have your cake and eat it too. Stock over axle full exhaust that is quiet for normal driving, then flip a switch and get rowdy when you want. I picked up 30whp on a 383 turbo TA at 8 psi back in the day. That was compared to the full 3.5" over axle exhaust that I had. They can leak, but they're much better than they used to be and you can also add some high temp gasket to the surface to minimize any noise from a sealing issue.

I agree with ddn but was also annoyed with the exhaust leaks caused by cutouts (typically took about 15000 miles to start leaking) which is why I went full 3" dual. I think the header primary size is the more likely choke point especially considering I only picked up 15 WHP cutout open vs. closed on the stock catback when I was around 700 WHP.
