Default Need some help

Hi all
Ive been fighting an issue that I can’t seem to figure out. Hopefully some of you will have some Insight. Here’s the combo:
82 S10
twin rear mount gt45
A2W intercooler
fitech 1200 PA, msd 6014
th400, TCI Ls turbo converter
BTR stage 2 cam, BTR 660 springs
Bre7 plugs gapped at 24


So here’s the issue. At the track, 95% of the time it won’t pull past 5200 in second and third gear. Seems to fall on is face after the 1to 2 shift. Popping, sounding like it’s hitting the rev limit which is set at 7200 on both the msd and fitech. I don’t think this is a fueling issue as I had a c&s carb on it befor I put the fitech back on and it was doing the same thing. Unfortunately the data log on the fitech screwed up and I wasn’t collecting any data. But the msd log shows it was doing what it was supposed to. 32 degrees total timing ramping down to 18 at 13 psi.

i made 5 runs on Saturday and it stumbled 4 of the 5. First run was the best, peddled 3 times off the line but after I got it together it pulled to 7000 in all gears and ran 11.02 @ 134. The rest of the runs it had the issue.

We’ve went from tr6 to Bre7 plugs, changed coil packs, went over and added grounds, plugs looked ok, might have been a tad lean but still ok. The fact that ever once and awhile it pulls through all gears the way it’s supposed to but then stumbles after that really has me stumped. Sorry for the long post, just trying to get all the info in there.

Might consider checking the cam/crank sensors. They've been known to cause similar issues.

As for the FITech/MSD Combo, you're never ever going to see full potential out of those. That's like the TBI equivalent of fuel injection.

Crank sensor is new this year but definitely ya I’ll have to change them both out. See what happens. As for the combo, I see what you saying. It’s been a bit of a fight to get them working together. There are guys running low 9’s and into the 8’s with the combo though, which was my goal this year. Probably going to make the swap to the Holley system over winter.
