Default 66 Nova SS TT project

Going to post some pics of my 1966 Nova SS street car project. Been about 14 years in the making, LOL. Life and kids, career, etc. Long time car enthusiast, drag racer, engine machinist/builder, etc. Put together alot of different stuff over the years. I think I have had 6 or 7 different LS engine configurations mocked up in this car over those 14 years, and even started with a pump gas 555 BBC when I first put the Alston Chassisworks front clip on it. At one point, I thought I was going to race Real Street at the LSX Shootouts with it, but never could find the time to get it together. The rules seemed to change yearly and that didn't help. Kind of glad I never put it together then because it would have gone down the race car road and probably never returned. Too nice of a car for that.

Finally settled in on a combo, it will be a twin turbo set up. Precision 68/70's and Shearer A/W set up sitting on top of a 417 Motorsports billet lower intake.

I have a few pair, haven't decided on the direction for the engine combo and fuel system. Part of me is leaning towards a 5.3L engine with good internals and heads to get this thing going and out and then progress from there.
Manifold is set up for cathedral. I have a Dart block and some really nice Mast 285cc LS7 heads, an ERL 427 Superdeck, (2) 6.0L's (one aluminum and one iron), a 6.2L LS3, several rotating assemblies and half a dozen or so 5.3L's, LOL.
It is going to be a street driver, and I can't even decide on fuel, E85 or Gas. Dammit!

That erl with a magnuson 2650 or whipple 4.5l would be a nice setup.I was also set on e85 but switch to pump and meth and have c16 for the track if i can ever get there. For a fun street car its not hard to over power the road on gas and meth.Im wanting to switch to a whipple 4.5 with a low lash solid roller myself.Keeps us updated.

Wanting to start my wiring, but can't live with this floor. It's nice and original with no rust. I plan to ultimately put a full interior in the car, but want it to be clean up until that point, the interior is like your office, you spend alot of time in it.

Although I have the original interior, it will get new carpet for sure. I envision the interior completion will be the last part of this build, and it is possible it may make a trip or two down the 1/4 mile with only a dash, race seat, harness and the essentials.

The last owner glued the carpet backing down and it is a mess to get up, lots of fuzz stuck to the original floor. It goes up in flames very easily as I learned with someone of the welding/fabrication inside along the way.

I did the underside using Lizard Skin. I plan to just use a two part black epoxy prime on the inside.

Awesome, me too. Drove a 67 hdtp in high school, 327 4-spd. Solid low 13 car but was a blast with 14X6 rallys and Goodyear Eagle ST's after I wore out the polyester radials. I broke a few cluster gears in my Muncie M-21's. Put alot of miles on that car. I was really tempted to take this that direction, LS3 with a 5-speed but I have bitten by the speed bug! Probably regret it in like another 10 years!
