Default 408 vs 5.3 turbo

First I apologize if this is in the wrong place its been a year or two since I was on here anyways.
Just sold my vmp tvs 660 rwhp boosted coyote looking to get back into the LS world "never sold my 4th gen just stored in garage" before the coyote I was building a turbo 408 but sold it out, the goal is around 600-650wrhp on kill mode max or just around 500rwhp cruising street car, 93 octane and meth with ac and full drivability this is just a weekend car me my wife and kids will take out for a drive so i dont want to deal with overheating/reliability problems ect. Car will only be raced at most couple times a year looking at 2 options.

408 with h/c/i and a single nozzle nitrous kit for if the very few times I go to the track and just enjoy the reliability for cruising ect as I dont need 600whp+ just driving with my kids possibly ls3 top end depending how close to budget.

5.3 junkyard small turbo cam and Huron Speed ac kit i can turn up or down whenever I want more, just iffy about reliability there with unknown engine condition and overheating problems in heavy stand still traffic as my boosted coyote would get HOT and heat soak terribly .

Reason I mentioned small turbo cam is wife said that and a nice sounding exhaust is the only thing she would like in this project as she hated the coyote sound compared to the cammed ls1, i will have my ls1 for all accessories parts either way. There is a company having a nice sale on there 408 short block as well not sure if there a sponsor so wont mention company, and i know about "suspension, rearend trans ect for the hp level" sorry for this long post just tore between options budget is about $7k-8k Thanks everyone

408 is gunna be a lot more fun just driving around and enjoying it. My 5.3 is snappy and all but torque makes a street car fun to drive. Not taking anything away from boost. It’s the king. But smaller motors are not as exciting to drive

The 408 would prob give you all you want, I guess whether you want to deal with all the fabrication, fuel system, ease of maint, etc. Turbos get pretty cluttered under the hood, but look good, lol.

I appreciate it so far guys, i was kinda leaning towards the 408 side absolutely nothing wrong with the turbo setup though, I guess I could have threw a procharger options in there but there price is hard to justify with turbo kits being what they are, keep it coming guys
