Default Twin turbo A2A intercooler suggestions

Trying to figure order the A2A intercooler for my twin turbo c6 project today. The two i think i have it narrowed down to are:

https://www.cxracing.com/intercooler...011-UP-BIGCORE

and

https://www.treadstoneperformance.co...-1300hp/p90650

I like the 3.5" outlet on the treadstone unit, and i feel like treadstone will be a higher quality product compared to CX racing. That being said, the CX racing core is larger. Anyone have any experience with either? Or have any better suggestions on a 2 in one out A2A intercooler? Goal is 1000-1200HP through a 2.5" cold side to a single 4" tube to the throttle body.

I have the TRV259 intercooler on my dart 388 91/102 set up in a fox mustang. It appears to be very similar to the treadstone unit you have linked. It's a middle of the road unit IMO. I do have data on it that could be useful to you.

I made 1008 rwhp on a mustang dyno thru an unlocked 4L80E. On that pull the details are: 23 PSI total. The starting IAT was 89 and max was 153. So a 64 degree rise on a full 3rd gear dyno pull. Last one of the day so everything was heat soaked. We did have a high pressure fan blowing directly into the intercooler to simulate airflow while moving. It was about 70 degrees in the dyno room.

I honestly am not sure you will go wrong with either. I would personally probably go with the Treadstone because like you mentioned I think it is just a little higher quality overall, and I think performance wise they would be very similar. BUT I do think for the most part bigger = better when it comes to A2A coolers. If you have room for the larger CX unit it may not be a bad idea.

Thanks for the data! I've definitely got room for the CX unit, but as I mentioned it seems most research points towards the treadstone unit and not the CX. Any other opinions?

What is the set up and build info? Goals for power and ET? Indended use like street/track and goals? If you are on a budget or not super serious racing for money or something, I would grab one of those two you already outlined and call it good. If you are serious I would look into a nicer (and much more expensive) unit with Garret cores, or even an A2W. Tough to give you much more info without knowing what you want to do.

i have that same treadstone for my build, although it's not running yet so i have no data or anything to back up any of my claims. from what research i can remember, i did not care for the cxracing unit. i came across several articles/posts/whatever discussing the difference in fin density & overall build quality of them, so it's not simply about size & core thickness. the treadstone is not going to outperform a garrett by any means, but i think it's a good bang-for-the-buck part, and certainly better han the cx. This winter I switched from a single s480 and a cx racing 4 inch intercooler to twin billet s366s and a treadstone “1300” hp intercooler. I do not have any data also because it’s 20 degrees in Pennsylvania but there is no comparison on fin density and the over all look of the core. The treadstone wasn’t much more money so that’s why I went with it. With the s480 at 23 psi I saw temps in the 180 range fwiw
