Need pickup solution for a 32g fuel cell!
Need pickup solution for a 32g fuel cell! So as the title states I'm looking for a solution to my issue. I have a 67 Camaro (currently Pro-Charged) and I have a 32 gallon fuel cell mounted in the trunk (1/2 through the floor). My main problem is being able to have fuel avaialble at all times even when tank gets low on fuel. I have a Jazz style (Poly tank with steel shell using a single angled pickup that is pointed toward the rear right corner) it's a 32 gallon non-baffled cell which is great until I get below 1/4 tank. Being that its poly I dont see a way to baffle it to make it work as needed.
I also built a small surge tank that is fed by a holley pump and an Aeroquip 1000 pump that is fed from the surge tank.
I'd like to set this up so I can use all the fuel in the tank if possible.
I have some aluminum sheet so I'm kinda tempted to make a fuel tank from scratch but I'd rather find an easier solution for now.
I saw some pickup mats from Holley that were quite expensive but if they work then its worth it! I should have stuck with my old tank that had a rear sump pickup but the tank was only 16 gallons...
Anyone have experience with the Holley pickup mats?
I'm soon removing the Procharger and fabbing up a twin turbo setup instead since I can only make 16 psi and its maxxed out, I even had a custom pulley made to max out the impeller RPM, haha. I'd rather just swap out to a larger Procharger but the cost is prohibitive. I can sell the Procharger and upgrade and just about break even.

Have you considered filling the tank with wiffle *****? It sounds funny, but quite a few off-road folks use it.
My first gut would say to build a composite structure inside with trap doors, but it's probably not feasible.
