Default Twin turbo drain ideas.

Hey all,

I’m building a twin turbo 5.3 and am looking for cheap drain ideas. I was thinking of bulkhead fittings in the pan and some type of high temp hose with a corresponding fitting. What have you guys done? I don’t mind braided, just brainstorming and am budget/function over form. Pictures are appreciated! Also just twin drain setups are cool too, I’ve seen some just curious what others are doing.

My first setup , a single PT7675, used a -10an on the passengers side of the oil pan. Later, when I put on Twin GT35's, I went to the Gen III ICT Billet twin drain timing cover.

The only caution on this cover is that it doesn't have the reliefs for the water pump bolt heads. The bolts I'm referring to are on the backside of the water pump. I had to grind them flat to get the waterpump to seat properly. Otherwise, a great and easy solution compared to pulling the pan off and drilling/welding ports.

I drain mine into the timing cover. I drilled and tapped it for a pipe thread and put jb weld on the threads. Never has leaked. Going on 3 years. 3/8npt and 10an on the hose. Push lock hose for oil.

I also picked up the ICT cover just to make things simple. I'd drill & port the fittings on it. They are 9.9mm ID and that's not at the 90* bend where there is a lot of casting BS. I'd guess they neck down to 8mm or less there. Honestly that is a garbage design and too small. Most T4's have a 17mm drain on the cartridge and you shouldn't go any smaller than that. So an AN10 is to small... An AN12 is too small ID wise as well. Need tubing. The S400/S300 stuff is 20mm!

I have an -10an on mine and I’ve had no issues. I’ve drilled holes bigger in fitting where need be. Been like that for about 3 years. No smoke.

A couple bulkhead fittings with gaskets is usually the cheapest/easiest solution.

Timing cover only works if you place your turbos fairly far forward (most do though) and then you have to make sure you don't have issues with balancer clearance.
