msd6014 and d585 coils

msd6014 and d585 coils I have the msd 6014 and it has the settings for coils on it.It has a ls2 setting and was wondering it this is what everyone uses.It says if you dont know then use the auto setting.My question is on the auto setting it detects the 24 or 58 reluctors and sets the coils from there.On the d585 would you use the ls2 setting or just let it auto detect.Also if you use the ls setting what kind of dwell does the system set the coils at..Or lastly does it not even matter with the msd6014..thanks for any information.
