Scoggin Dickey is very competitive.
I dont see a ls3 long block on the site, just lsx and ls9. Ls9 could be sick, probably expensive though. I will see if I can call them.

@hank peabody, those cams look too aggro for my use.

I dont see ant ls3 long blocks on their site. I'm not really in a rush to get the long block. My car needs a lot of things before I can drop an engine. I will wait until I'm sure what I want and then probably order from summit or jegs.

If I were to get the chevy performance ls3 long block would I want to run a thicker head gasket to lower the compression a little for boost?

Bone stock LS3 will handle 1000whp no problems. Like anything else, as long as the tune is good, of course.

I'm a fan of smaller CI. Traction is less of an issue than big CI stuff. Blowing the tires off is fun but if you want to be fast, traction is key.

Power to the pavement is the key.

Not uncommon for someone who had a better reaction time but lost traction on the hit to fall behind on the 60', 330' and 660' but at 1000' they're passing you to the finish line.

Why not just build an iron ls3 out of a 6.0 truck block, that's what I did for dirt cheap, then added 14lbs boost in the form of a lsa supercharger with a 2.45" pulley and fic 850cc injectors, powered by a terminator x........and no I didn't even have the rotating assembly balanced, went from dished lq4 slugs to flat top ls3 slugs on 4th Gen rods to a 3rd gen crank.....lol no issues at all

I dont have the time or ability to do that, so the LS3 crate long block is a better way for me.

Check out CNC Motorsports. https://www.cnc-motorsports.com/perf.../ls-long-block They're not a sponsor so a mod can delete if necessary. But they have some legit prices and options. I got my Dart LsNext 388" turbo motor from them and it wasn't perfect but I'm still happy overall. Feel free to PM me if you want more info. They will also customize any of the items on the website for you and provide suggestions. So just because you don't see exactly what you're after doesn't mean they won't do it. Just call and talk with them.

I respect that, it takes a real man to be honest with himself and admit something is beyond his capabilities. .......I hope you find what your looking for brother!!!.....there are lots of nice options out there.......myself I like the blueprint engines 427 LS short block, you can find them at summit for under $5k and then you can put your own top end on and your choice of cam. ...or you can buy it in longblock form for a couple more grand......but yeah if your gonna spend the money go with a blueprint 408 or 427 from a reputable seller like summit......happy hunting......for the price of a ls3 you can have a big inch stroker if you don't mind the extra 100 lbs from a cast block, it will be able to handle more power if you ever decide to play with boost down the road....

I wanna keep it aluminum so the LS3 makes the most sense. Should be able to handle the cam swap, blower install and everything else to get it going.
