Default Start up tune needed?

Hey all so my buddy has a 70’ nova that started off as a sbe 6.0, heads/cam, 4l60e(will be upgrading to 4l80e in a month or two)
(Red/blue stock pcm, psi wiring harness)

After a few weeks we threw on a 4.0L whipple and a few things to note such as: Upgraded to FIC 1250cc injectors, fuel surge tank with dual walbro’s. we haven’t changed out the map sensor, it is still running a 1 bar map sensor. We’ll be switching out to a 2 bar that was recommended by cbm Motorsports.

Question is:
Would i need a startup tune just to start it up with what I mentioned above? I just want to be able to start to see if I have any issues with new ati balancer, fuel leaks, etc. before I take it to get tuned.

What happens when there is more air than fuel? A lean mixture occurs when there's a higher concentration of air to fuel than there should be. When this occurs, your engine will likely still run but will result in jerking motions within the mechanics of the combustion engine which in turn leads to damage to the engine, such as burned valves.

What happens when there is more fuel than air? “Fuel wash” It is caused by engine flooding at initial startup or in early operation of a newly rebuilt engine and can cause serious damage to the cylinder bores, pistons, and piston rings. When flooding occurs, either from a fuel system malfunction, or over fueling when the engine fails to start, the excess fuel washes the oil film from the rings and cylinder walls which will cause metal to metal contact to occur and scuffing takes place.

More air and fuel requires timing adjustments and if you don't know what changes need to be made then you're taking a huge risk.

You definitely want an updated injector profile in the tune to match the injectors you have or your fueling could be waaaaay off and like said above, either direction that goes is a bad thing.

If you went a lot bigger on injectors I'd think you'd need a tune. Could you swap on the old injectors and run it that way?
