L94 with LSA Blower Issue

Default L94 with LSA Blower Issue

I’m looking to buy a 2010 Escalade that has an LSA blower swap with a 2.5 upper pulley. Truck runs great and was just recently retuned. During the test drive I noticed that the 1-2 shift it will fall flat on its face during full throttle. If I get off the gas and let it shift then it will shift fine. But if I stay in up to around 6k where it should shift it will just want to feel like it’s hitting a brick wall. Has anyone run into an issue like this before? Tuner didn’t know what it could be. Previous owner said it wa a fine before the pulley swap.

What are you saying, I'm not following, it winds out 1st gear in WOT from a dig?

It’s like it’s pulling boost. It’ll launch hard and pull but then instead of shifting into 2nd it will nose dive. If you launch hard but let off before it reaches redline it will shift into 2nd. All other gear changes are fine at wot it’s just 1-2 will nose dive and pull power instead of shifting.

Does it do that if you stomp it from a dig and / or roll into going WOT?

Didn’t try from a roll but the owner said anytime your in first at wot it won’t shift. I’ve seen some where it could be the tune and others say trans fluid cavitation. I’m leaning towards the tune unless it boost related.

It’s been tuned. New tuner said that the pervious tune needed work. I’m not getting a ton of info from the seller. I even reached out to the tuner but no word yet. The seller stated that the tuner didn’t understand why it was doing it. Not sure what all measures where taken in the tune but it didn’t sound like they tried the trans stock tune to rule it out. Just something he has lived with.

Honestly think it’s just hitting the rev limiter and won’t shift and when it does that it falls flat on its face

Stock ECU or Holley?

Where are you located?

Sounds like you need to have a tooner look at the tune, someone log the issue, and address.

My '10 is stock ECU and when it would hit the limiter it would just go dead.

Yea it’s stock ECU. John Weeks is a well known turner around south Alabama and north west Florida that did the last tune on it. For whatever reason it’s allowing it to hit the limiter and few like it’s dying. It’s almost like it pulls fuel or boost because it’s falling on it’s face basically. I might have to grab another tuner to load a stock trans tune but I reached out to John just haven’t heard back. I know he’s a busy guy.

Needs rpm and mph to trigger a shift. Would guess that someone didn't tune it correctly for top of 1st shift. Usually you set the shift so the mph is met early and then as soon as it sees the rpm it triggers the shift. Otherwise maybe the trans is dying.

That’s my biggest worry is the clutch packs are going. Trying to research to see how big of a concern that is with the symptoms it’s showing.

then tell him this lowers the price. Fix it, then you’ll consider the asking price. Otherwise…….. it’s a known issue so price it accordingly
